Miguel Montero has reportedly been traded to the Cubs for Jefferson Mejia and Zach Godley. The 31 year old catcher has solid defense and an above average bat for a catcher. He has three years left on his contract in which he will be paid a total of $40 million. The Cubs are looking to contend in 2015 and although Wellington Castillo still may start against lefties Montero's 2014 OPS against righties was .735 a sizable upgrade above Castillo's .631 OPS on righties. |
