After Chase Headley another free agent infielder on the market signed today. Jed Lowrie has agreed to terms on a deal sending him to the Houston Astros. Lowrie will be earning $23 million over the next three years. This is a $7.667 million annual average Lowrie's underestimated bat and his infield versatility makes him easily worth this much his 0.8 WAR in 2014 was down from years previous, but Lowrie is still a great option for the low budget Astros who couldn't touch players like Headley or Sandoval. Lowrie is vastly superior to the Astros other rumored option Stephen Drew who hurt his teams, the Red Sox and Yankees, with a -0.3 WAR total in 2014. |
